My family went to Cloudcroft last summer in August and it was the BEST vacation we have had in years. We rode 4 wheelers all over the mountain trails, we hiked, and we played golf ( guys even played in the weekly scamble). We did a Billy the Kid tour in Lincoln which is a beautiful drive. We had a great time there.

Yes, you can take food. They do have a grill that has reasonably priced, good food. There are 4 or 5 picnic tables outside you can eat at. I'm not sure what their policy is on bringing food …
