We saw whales porpoises and seals and lots of them!! Once we spotted the minke whales the captain kept the ship in place where we could get some good videos Full review by janmW8114OS

Highly recommended! Rob and Joe were fantastic guides. We saw the Old Sow whirlpool, whales, porpoises, seals and a lobster trap demo. We would do this tour over if time permitted. Lots of fun! Full review by Mom L

Will be in Bar Harbor end-of-August - thinking of driving up for this boat tour. We are especially interested in Old Sow - are there specific times when we will have better odds?

Usually around high tide is better. Capt. Butch and crew will show you the Old Sow either way and they always see whales. Great trip, we go every year. Enjoy!!!

I would make the reservation the day before, stop in to their shop at the head of the breakwater(across the street from the Quoddy Tides Newspaper). Janna will be able to give you all the information you need. As others have mentioned, bring layers, bring a camera, binoculars and a snack. Also, there were two crew members ( along with Capt. Harris), we ended up giving them a tip, as they answered our questions and were easy to talk with.
