The parc in itself is less impressive than the others and really smelly. But the maori carving we can try and the mud bath/ hot bath afterwords are worth it +++ Full review by 864emilie

Get exfoliated by the mud and relax in the thermal sulphur waters! Would have been good if more room and more time in the mud was possible. Full review by Irene A

Hi, Is this suitable for a 1.5year old at all? Thanks so much

I wouldn’t advise it. There’s quite a lot of sulphur in the air, and danger from the very hot pools up to 100 degrees

To walk around the park you don't need to book. The guided tour is good but you need to book. If you want a mud bath/sulphur pool I recommend you book as well. June is NZ's Winter season so it could be quiet in the mud/pools/ booking department. So you could be lucky winging it. The reserve is on private land and so I find it less busy and not as overwhelming like the other geothermal company/tours. Hope you have a good time. P.s You'll get use to the smell... I hope.
