Glasgow teachers vote to strike in cuts protest
Glasgow teachers have voted to strike in protest at cuts to education services. Members of the the Educational Institute of Scotland (EIS) teaching union who took part in the ballot voted 95% to 5% in favour of walking out unless the ongoing programme of cuts is halted and reversed.

Teachers in Scotland’s biggest city have overwhelmingly voted in favour of strike action. Some 95% of those in the Educational Institute of Scotland (EIS), on a turnout of 57%, backed industrial action in response to a programme of cuts by Glasgow City Council.
