U.S. President Donald Trump has invited Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to visit the White House next week, a White House official said, hours after a U.S. military plane departed to return deported migrants to the country.

PM Modi is expected to arrive in Washington DC on the evening of February 12 after wrapping up his visit to France, and will stay in the US capital till Feb 14.

The Pentagon has also begun facilitating mass deportations, using military planes to transport over 5,000 migrants detained in Texas, & San Diego, California.

Discussion between PM Modi and President Trump could also involve trade tariffs which the US president has threatened in the past with India's high tariffs on US products.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to meet President Donald Trump on February 13 in Washington DC, focusing on enhancing the US-India strategic partnership and upcoming Quad Leaders' Summit, while also engaging with American corporate leaders during his visit.

PM Modi will travel to Washington from Paris on Feb 12 for his first bilateral meeting with President Donald Trump after the latter's inauguration last month. His official engagements are scheduled to take place over the next two days,
