John Mara better get ready for more airplane protest banners in 2025. Maybe even in Week 1, if the Giants open at home. The Eagles and Saquon Barkley winning the Super Bowl on Sunday night was a fitting final blow to an all-time disgrace of a Giants season — as general manager Joe Schoen and coach Brian Daboll dragged Mara’s family franchise through the Meadowlands swamps.

Eagles wide receiver Parris Campbell, a former Giants teammate of Barkley’s, smiled when asked how Barkley has been able to immediately impact the Eagles so greatly in his first season with the team. “Because he’s a beast,” Campbell said. “He’s the best in the world. Simple.”

Had the Giants decided to match Barkley’s free-agent contract offer from the Eagles last March, he would’ve re-signed to continue what he started.
