Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum has agreed to deploy 10,000 national guard troops to block drug trafficking at the U.S.-Mexico border.

The Trump administration has agreed to pause sweeping tariffs on Mexico for a month while the two sides hammer out an agreement, Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum announced Monday. Sheinbaum said in a tweet that,

President Donald Trump has said that he will delay tariffs on Mexican imports for at least a month as the country south of the U.S. has said they will reinforce the border with 10,000 members of the National Guard immediately.
