A 61-year-old man from Redford Township was arrested for trafficking two women, marking a success for Oakland County's new human trafficking task force.

A new Oakland County task force focused on human trafficking has netted its first arrest, that of a 61-year-old Redford Township man who allegedly plied two area women with drugs and forced them into prostitution.

The Oakland County Human Trafficking Task Force has made its first arrest, Sheriff Michael Bouchard announced during a press conference on Thursday. Bouchard said that the task force is a first-of-its-kind in the county and they have partnered with the Madison Heights Police Department for the arrest.

A Redford man was arrested for his alleged involvement in human trafficking. Oakland County Sheriff officials say this was the first arrest of the department's new human trafficking taskforce. The suspect is in jail with a bond at nearly $1 million.
