On Sunday, Feb. 16, Paul Simon opened the “SNL50” celebration with a performance of his 1966 classic “Homeward Bound” — which he also played with George Harrison on the classic sketch show back in November 1976 — alongside Sabrina Carpenter.

Paul Simon’s retirement from touring is officially over. Seven years after completing his farewell tour, the legendary singer-songwriter and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee announced Tuesday morning that he will embark on an extensive North American tour.

Dubbed "A Quiet Celebration," the 55-date tour begins April 4 in New Orleans and ends Aug. 3 in Seattle. Simon will play the Beacon Theatre on June 16, 18, 20, 21 and 23. Other stops on the tour will include the legendary Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, Tennessee, Massey Hall in Toronto and the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles.

The outing comes two years after the 83-year-old rock icon said he wouldn't be able to perform live again due to severe hearing loss.
