Parts of the cockpit and tail of an American Airlines regional plane were recovered Tuesday as crews continued pulling pieces of the wreckage from the Potomac River following last week's deadly midair collision over Washington,

Salvage workers removed an engine and the fuselage of the passenger jet that crashed into the river last week after colliding with a U.S. Army helicopter.

Even as crews continued to comb the Potomac River for victims' remains, the Army Corp of Engineers began recovering the wreckage of the midair crash.
