Lawyers for South Carolina and Planned Parenthood are returning to the state’s highest court to argue how restrictive the state's abortion ban should be.

Recent court orders slowing down or indefinitely blocking President Donald Trump’s policy blitz have raised the specter that the executive branch might openly flout the federal judiciary and prompted questions about how judges would respond.

The weighty issue of abortion restrictions was back before the S.C. Supreme Court on Wednesday, with one lawyer referring to it as a “hot-button political case.”
