Aston Villa reached the fifth round of the FA Cup for the first time in 10 years, inflicting defeat on a Tottenham Hotspur side knocked out of a cup competition for the second time in three days.

Aston Villa are close to agreeing a loan deal for Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford, the PA news agency understands. The 27-year-old has been frozen out at Old Trafford under new boss Ruben Amorim and is looking for a new club during the transfer window.

They no longer have that excuse, after falling away at Aston Villa 2-1. It was their second domestic cup loss in a week, and Spurs now have only the Premier League and the Europa League left to compete for.
