Former reality TV star Thomas Ravenel’s bid for SC governor is over after only 4 days
Former South Carolina Treasurer Thomas Ravenel’s bid to become governor lasted four days. Ravenel, who was on the reality TV show Southern Charm from 2014 to 2018, posted on his X account that he was leaving the race for governor, less than a week after posting he was seeking the state’s top executive position.

He returned to the spotlight in 2014 when he appeared as a cast member on Southern Charm, which chronicles the personal and professional lives of several socialites living in Charleston, South Carolina. During this time, Ravenel once again ran for a U.S. Senate seat, this time as an independent, though he finished with just 3.9 percent of the vote.
