Brady spoke with reporters on a conference call Wednesday afternoon and revealed he recently taped an interview with Mahomes for Sunday’s pregame show.

With FOX NFL 's hiring of Tom Brady as its lead color commentator, the previous lead moved down to the No. 2 team and so on. Former Carolina Panthers tight end Greg Olsen, who was part of FOX's No. 1 broadcast team with play-by-play announcer Kevin Burkhardt, had to step aside for Brady this season.

In the leadup to Super Bowl LIX, there was a lot of talk about Patrick Mahomes' legacy. The 29-year-old was playing in his fifth Super Bowl in six years.
