Wichita Falls police were kept busy Sunday while hundreds protested Trump administration immigration policies downtown.

Hundreds of protesters took to the streets to rally against the crackdown on illegal immigration by the Trump administration on Sunday (February 2), enforced by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), an agency within the Department of Homeland Security.

The demonstration is part of a national protest against the conservative plan to enact sweeping change within the federal government. The Texas House and Senate will be in session.

Drivers should prepare for heavy traffic and street closures in downtown Dallas on Sunday, police say. There are planned demonstrations near City Hall, as well as on Houston, Young and Main streets, according to a Saturday news release.
