Red Sox shore up pitching depth by signing former All-Star
The Boston Red Sox are gearing up for the 2025 campaign, but they aren't done adding to their roster just yet. After they reunited with one of their former relief pitchers, Adam Ottavino, on a minor league deal earlier this week, the Red Sox brought another veteran relief pitcher to town on Thursday in Matt Moore.
Ex-Yankees and Mets reliever signs with Red Sox
Adam Ottavino is returning to the Red Sox on a minor league deal, according to Jon Heyman of the New York Post. The right-hander was with the Red Sox in 2021 and helped Boston reach the American League Championship Series. In his third season with the Mets in 2024, Ottavino posted a 4.34 ERA with 70 strikeouts and one save over 56 innings.
