Snowy owl seen in New Glarus in recent weeks found dead
NEW GLARUS, Wis. -- The snowy owl that had bird enthusiasts and others flocking to New Glarus in recent weeks has died. New Glarus Police Chief Jeff Sturdevant confirmed to News 3 Now that he was informed of the bird's death by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources Wednesday morning.

Sturdevant said the owl was located somewhere around Highway 69 in New Glarus, but did not have an exact location. No foul play is suspected in the animal's death. A spokesperson with the DNR said the owl was found by a local sheriff's deputy Wednesday morning.
