Venezuelans in the Miami suburb of Doral have been some of Trump’s biggest proponents. Many feel betrayed after he revoked temporary protected status for thousands.

Under a Biden-era extension, the Venezuelans had TPS through October 2026. But with this new ruling, TPS protection will end for them on April 7. (Another 250,000 or so Venezuelans who received TPS in 2021 have protections through September, for now.)

According to government documents obtained by The New York Times, the Trump administration has ended TPS for nearly 300,000 Venezuelans. News of the decision threw Venezuelans living and working in the U.S. into turmoil.
