Drivers across the New Orleans area were dealing with severe traffic and hours-long waits Friday as major roadways and bridges remain closed for ice to slowly melt away.

From New Orleans to Jefferson Parish, there is gridlock on every major alternate road including Earhart, Airline, Veterans, and Jefferson Davis Parkway.
