Kandis Hawkins, the figure skating director at Hertz Arena in Estero, said in a message Thursday that all of its local skaters who participated in the event have been accounted for and are safe.

She said many of the top figure skaters in the country were at the U.S. Figure Skating Championships in Wichita.
