Virgin Media customers are currently experiencing a loss of internet service. More than 1,000 users have reported the problem on Downdetector, which tracks online service statuses and real-time outages.

Virgin Media O2 users across the UK have been hit with a frustrating service outage, leaving many without internet access. The telecoms heavyweight has acknowledged that an unspecified problem is affecting some customers and is actively working to resolve it.

Downdetector, a site which monitors outages, saw issues spike across thre three providers, with Virgin the worst affected.

Virgin Media O2 is offering new customers £200 bill credit or a free TV worth £399 on certain contracts. The media firm says the freebies are available with selected broadband package bundles on an 18-month contract.
