Ride-hail giant Lyft plans to bring fully autonomous robotaxis, powered by Mobileye, to its app “as soon as 2026” in Dallas, with more markets to follow,

Lyft says it will launch a fleet of robotaxis, using self-driving technology from Intel’s Mobileye, in Dallas in “as soon as 2026,” with plans to scale to ”thousands” of vehicles in additional markets in the months to follow. To signal its seriousness, the company tapped Marubeni, a Japanese conglomerate, to run fleet operations.

U.S. ride-hailing firm Lyft is planning to launch fully autonomous robotaxis, powered by Mobileye, to its app "as soon as 2026" in Dallas, CEO David Risher said in a post on X on Monday. Shares of Lyft rose 5% in premarket trading following the report,

Lyft, the ride-hailing service, plans to bring robotaxis to the platform in Dallas as soon as 2026 with other cities to follow.

DALLAS - Lyft says it will bring autonomous robotaxis to Dallas as soon as 2026. Lyft says they have joined forces with Marubeni, a Japenese company with experience managing fleets, to make it happen. Marubeni-owned fleet vehicles equipped with Mobileye Drive technology will be available on the Lyft app.

The company previously announced in November it would launch self-driving cars in Atlanta. Now, the company says its autonomous cars will be in Dallas by 2026, according to David Risher's post on X. Lyft is partnering with Marubeni and Mobileye, a leader in self-driving tech and advanced driver assistance, Risher said.

Lyft Inc. will launch driverless rides with technology vendor and Intel Corp. spinoff Mobileye Global Inc. in Dallas as soon as 2026, building on a partnership that was first announced last November.
