Lancashire have secured the IPL partner they wanted to run Manchester Originals as a joint venture, with Sanjiv Goenka's RPSG Group submitting the highest bid for a 49% stake in the Hundred franchise on Monday.

The RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group has acquired a 70 percent stake in the Manchester Originals cricket franchise for approximately 75 million pounds. This transaction marks the first time a majority stake has been bought in a Hundred franchise.

The Hundred is a short-form professional cricket league in the UK, organised by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), where each team faces 100 balls.

The RPSG Group secured a 49 per cent stake in the Manchester-based franchise with the highest bid, reportedly worth £116 million.

RPSG Group has secured a stake in Manchester Originals, with the deal said to represent the first sell-off of a majority interest in a franchise competing in the Hundred.
