PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Twelve horses were rescued by the Pennsylvania SPCA Thursday after a stable fire killed two and injured another in Southwest Philadelphia. The Philadelphia Fire Department was called out to the 5800 block of Lindbergh Boulevard around 7:30 a.m.

A fire killed two horses as it blazed through pop-up stables in Southwest Philly on Thursday, according to the Pennsylvania SPCA and ACCT Philly. Twelve other horses were rescued, along with a handful of other farm animals.

Two horses died and 12 others were rescued from a stable fire on the 5800 block of Lindbergh Boulevard in Southwest Philly. Investigators are still determining the cause of the fire and whether animal cruelty was at play.
