Taunton fire and school officials said first responders were called to Bristol-Plymouth Regional Technical School for the incident.

Seven students were taken to the hospital after a “strong odor” was detected in a Taunton high school classroom Monday afternoon, officials said.

Officials say 7 students were transported to Morton Hospital for evaluation. The remaining students were released to their parents or guardians. Investigators say they did not detect any unusual readings in the building, and the Taunton Board of Health approved the building’s reopening.
