Original Sin continues to expand on Dexter's lore and how he became a serial killer. Dexter's universe is gradually expanding with many spin-offs, with Dexter: Resurrection on the way. In addition, a spin-off revolving around the Trinity Killer's origin story is also in the works.

Patrick Gibson ( The OA) beautifully tackled the role of a younger Dexter as though he were born for it, while Hall returned to provide the murderer’s inner voice. According to Original Sin showrunner Clyde Phillips (he also oversaw the first four seasons of the OG series), that running monologue is what makes the franchise so enduring.
