During the roller coaster hiring process of Liam Coen as the new Jacksonville Jaguars head coach, Jags owner Shad Khan felt “urgency” to close the deal due to fears that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Todd Bowles would swoop in with a game-changing offer.

There is some bad blood over coach Liam Coen’s departure from Tampa Bay. The Buccaneers have blocked multiple assistants from interviewing with the Jaguars for jobs, according to multiple reports. ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reported that the Jaguars attempted to interview Tampa Bay offensive line coach Kevin Carberry for a similar role in Jacksonville but were blocked.
