Philadelphia Eagles fans are passionate about their football team, but Saquon Barkley didn’t like them booing Taylor Swift at the Super Bowl. The running back champion defended the “Fortnight” singer during a recent interview after he learned Swift was greeted with boos on Sunday night.

Taylor Swift did not get a warm reception at the Superdome for Super Bowl LIX on Sunday. When the pop superstar was shown on screen during the first quarter of the game, the crowd, largely Eagles fans, greeted her with a round of boos.

Barkley — who was traded in the offseason from the NFC East rival Giants — instantly elevated the Eagles to a Super Bowl contender. And though Barkley was mostly quiet in Philadelphia’s dominant Super Bowl 59 win, that impact was undeniable. Jalen Hurts made sure to let Barkley know that.
