Real Madrid goalkeeper, Thibaut Courtois, has given a detailed reason as to why he did not join Manchester United. He said it was because of former Red Devils goalkeeper, David de Gea’s permanent transfer to Old Trafford in the summer of 2011.

Courtois has been one of the best goalkeepers in the world over the past decade, winning league titles at Atletico Madrid, Chelsea and Real Madrid. The Belgian burst onto the scene at boyhood club Genk and revealed he attracted interest from Tottenham and multiple European clubs in the summer of 2011 when he was signed by Chelsea.
