A pro-Palestinian group at the University of Michigan has been suspended for two years and will lose its funding in connection with protesters’ demands for divestiture from companies doing business with Israel.

President Donald Trump signed an executive order this week aimed at canceling the student visas of foreign students who participated in pro-Palestinian protests on college campuses last year. Michigan was home to dozens of such protests,

The university filed a complaint against Students Allied for Freedom and Equality, alleging its involvement in demonstrations for an August "die in" protest and a May protest at Regent Sarah Hubbard's personal home.

Students Allied for Freedom and Equality said they are unfairly targeted by the university and would not stop demonstrating due to the suspension.
