Carson Hocevar believes he had to drive aggressively during the Ambetter Health 400 to give himself the best chance of winning

Carson Hocevar's aggressive moves at Atlanta might have earned him a second-place finish, but they didn't earn him any new friends.

Carson Hocevar walked away from the season’s second NASCAR Cup race with two things – his best career finish and a line of unhappy fellow competitors. Since the checkered-flag waved on his runner-up finish to Christopher Bell at Atlanta Motor Speedway, the 22-year-old driver has issued apologies to Ryan Blaney and Rick Hendrick.

Carson Hocevar was about five seconds away from earning his first career NASCAR Cup Series win, and he made a big splash. Kenny Wallace, former driver and fan-favorite, loved what he saw from the young racer.

Ryan Blaney and Ross Chastain both approached Hocevar on pit road post-race. Hocevar had made contact with Blaney to send him spinning earlier in the final stage, and the driver of the No. 12 Ford worked his way back to a fourth-place finish.

Hocevar says he was the ‘most aggressive’ in the closing laps at Atlanta Motor Speedway On Sunday, NASCAR races at Atlanta Motor Speedway. The SuperSpeedway race ended with Carson Hocevar, Christopher Bell and Kyle Larson running three wide for the win.
