A man was arrested on suspicion of drugs offences just after landing at Manchester Airport. Officers boarded the plane from Amsterdam just after it had touched down and come to a stop on the tarmac.

Amaaz, from Tarnside Close, Rochdale, is alleged to have assaulted PC Zachary Marsden and PC Lydia Ward, causing both actual bodily harm. He is also accused of the assault of PC Ellie Cook at the terminal car park paystation and the assault of Abdulkareem Ismaeil, a member of the public, said to have taken place earlier at a nearby Starbucks.

Two brothers from Rochdale have pleaded not guilty to assault charges following an alleged incident at Manchester Airport in July last year. Muhammad Amaad, 25, and Mohammed Amaaz, 20, appeared at Liverpool Crown Court on Thursday to enter their pleas relating to charges involving police officers and a member of the public.
