A Mumbai court on Friday extended till January 29 the police custody of the Bangladeshi man arrested for allegedly stabbing Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan at his home during a robbery attempt last week.

Bangladeshi national Shariful Fakir, accused of assaulting actor Saif Ali Khan, has his police custody extended until January 29. Forensic evidence links Fakir to the crime despite his father's dispute over identification.

The father of a Bangladeshi man accused of stabbing actor Saif Ali Khan insists his son is being framed. Shariful Islam, who allegedly entered India illegally, was arrested for the attack during a robbery attempt.
