Jul 26, 2024 · Dedicated in 1843, this 221-foot obelisk commemorates the Revolution's first major battle. Members of the Bunker Hill Monument Association (BHMA) spent decades raising money to complete the construction of the Monument. Since its completion, Bostonians have adapted the symbol of the Bunker Hill Monument for their own social and political activism.

Jan 20, 2024 · The Bunker Hill Monument became part of the National Parks of Boston in 1975. It became a stop on the Freedom Trail in 1977. Today, Bunker Hill is a residential area with a church on top of the hill. Bunker Hill still offers a great panoramic view of the surrounding area.

May 21, 2024 · The Bunker Hill Museum’s exhibits and dioramas tell the stories of the Battle of Bunker Hill, the construction of the Monument, and the history of the Charlestown Neighborhood. The musem is housed in the old Charlestown branch of the Boston Public Library.

Staff of the National Parks of Boston, part of the National Park Service (NPS), operates the Bunker Hill Monument and Lodge. The NPS is the third caretaker of this complex, whose history dates to 180 years ago.

The Bunker Hill Monument is a major commemorative obelisk, memorializing a key battle during the outset of the Revolutionary War. Climb (no elevator) the monument's 294 steps to the top for a spectacular view.
