His design was based on this photograph of a Division of the German Air Force during World War I. Dubbed The Flying Circus and led by Manfred von Richthfen The Red Barron.

Sep 11, 2014 · This may surprise people but I have never liked William Stout's cover art for "Bonzo's Birthday Party". I usually love Stout's bootleg art but not this one. Another cover I thought was particularly bad was the reissue cover for "My Brain Hurts". It's like a bad 1980s fashion ad. The original art for "My Brain Hurts" was far superior. .

Nov 11, 2024 · Bonham passed away in 1980, so I would be VERY skeptical of signatures in "Sharpie" pen from Led Zeppelin as Sharpies weren't widely available or used at that time. And from this amateur's eyes, those signatures don't look legit.

Dec 2, 2014 · The cover art was inspired by the ending of Childhood’s End, a novel by Arthur C. Clarke. It featured several hundred naked children roaming the earth. To create the feel of a large group of children, the Gates kids were photographed in black and white and multi-printed to create 11 children on the cover. The photos were shot by Aubrey Powell.

Mar 16, 2010 · The woman in the picture is Glynis Johns, the mother from Mary Poppins. Her presence in the photo is an obvious play on the name of recording engineer Glyn Johns. The other face added was that of bluesman Blind Willie Johnson. The cover also pictured the outline of a Zeppelin on a brown background, which gave the album its nickname "Brown Bomber".

Sep 24, 2008 · I used to have a white t-shirt with the above picture on the front ,minus the 3 .I had that T-shirt for 25-30 years, only wore it on special occasions and people always asked about it .Wore it mainly when Led Zeppelin related times were quiet .Just my way of trying to "keep the flag flying" .so to speak.
