Ideally I'd like my own design for an Android TV with the option to load in my own theme on a home screen. I don't think you can build your own box... However. If home screen customisation is your number one goal; Kodi can be set to auto-launch and be your home screen, it can launch Android apps and can be customised to your liking.

Dec 31, 2022 · Edit - what you listed is definitely not enough to make your own "Google maps" though. Map tiles are fine but I'd go with vector tiles to get more interactivity. You also need a routing service for generating point to point directions (the quality of data you need for this part is pretty important too, routing services can be tricky).
