Might be an unpopular opinion but Alex Morgan isn’t on the field to score all the goals. Yeah, I know she’s a forward but her best role, for about the last 5-6 years, is to pull defenders out of position and open up and create chances for others. She’s probably the best on the team at this.

I like Alex Morgan and she is one of the all time best players, but I understand why she was initially left off the roster. And no, she wasn’t left off to give new players a chance; it’s the gold cup and also the Olympics are a few months away, the players they want to take to the Olympics were called up initially.

Morgan also has a great vision of the game and she opens so much space for the other players. In summary, for now I would say yes, and let's see what the future holds. Also the new coach will certainly have his own vision, maybe a new formation so there is really nothing set in stone.
