Jul 13, 2020 · Absolute horseshit. Astral Chain was one of the best games last year. One of Platinums finest to date and a huge step up from Bayonetta. Combat system was innovative and fun as hell, with a lot of cool combos resulting from the various chain attacks you could do with your Legions. Visual and sound was top notch too.

Aug 3, 2020 · Astral Chain is an example of fantastic concept and absolute not fun garbage around it. The side stories stuff were awful and the cleaning your legion was bad. Its like it took 15 minutes to get to combat (the most fun part). Combat for 2 minutes. Then another 15. Just the game felt so bogged down. I wish they leaned more into combat.

Nov 8, 2020 · Even at 1.14m copies Astral Chain is probably the most successful Platinum original. Bayonetta was the only other million seller but it did it in bargain bins. Their other more successful games, Metal Gear Solid and Nier, were existing IPs belonging to big publishers... though Nier was pretty much in the typical Platinum tier.
