The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office is an accredited law enforcement agency in Carroll County, Maryland.

LEOSA qualification is for CCSO retired or current employed Sheriff’s Office personnel only. The Law Enforcement Officers Safety Act of 2004 allows qualified active and retired law enforcement officers to carry a concealed firearm nationwide.

Professional Services oversees all employment related functions of the Sheriff’s Office. The section coordinates recruiting, physical and psychological testing, background investigations and hiring for the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office.

All individuals arrested for a crime in Carroll County are transported to the Carroll County Detention Center. This includes all charges, from assault to burglary to murder, until the individual is adjudicated or sentenced.
